Summary

This invention relates to the production of tissue engineering scaffolds capable of encapsulating (macro-encapsulation) cells using complex coacervation technique with chitosan (KT) and hyaluronic acid (HA) polymers. The aim of the invention is to have a porous surface that is biodegradable, has biocompatible and elastic properties, consists of completely natural polymers, has no toxic effect since no crosslinkers or organic solvents are used, and will provide an environment suitable for cell survival, proliferation and, if stem cells are used, specialization to the desired cell type.
